All educational institutions in the country were shut down to prevent infection

 Health Minister Zahid Malek has said that all educational institutions will be closed for the next two weeks to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Bangladesh.



 He said this at a press conference held at the Department of Health on Friday.  Malek.


 Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, a notification containing new restrictions issued by the cabinet department also decided to close schools and colleges.


 "We have noticed an increase in school infection rates. Many students are being infected and they are going to the doctors for treatment. It is alarming," he told a news conference.


 "That is why we have decided to close schools in consultation with the Prime Minister and subject to his consent. Schools, colleges and universities will remain closed for the next two weeks."


 Mr.  "The decision will be made after two weeks," Malek said.


 In addition to the closure of educational institutions to prevent the spread of the social, political or religious events, no more than a hundred people have been instructed.


 Those attending these events will be required to carry a vaccination certificate and a PCR test report from the previous 24 hours.


 The university authorities have issued a press release stating that all the examinations of the national university have been postponed till further orders.
